Today we made a road trip to Rothenburg ob deer Tauber, the quintassential German small town, complete with medieval walls, lookout towers, cobbled streets, and old store signs overhanging the street. We strolled around and enjoyed that the crowds of tourists who wish to “see” Germany in one day decided to stay home because of the rain, or because it’s winter time. Our stroll around town was very nice and we then drove on via the German Romantic Road to visit my host dad for fantastic homecooked meal of salmon tartar, spaghetti with the most amazing tuna/caper/olive homemade sauce, and then espresso and mousse for dessert. JD, Verena and I had a great road trip and came home to enjoy some snacks and watching James Bond movies (there might not be the 12 days of 007 like back home, but we’re recreating it ;^)
