Today was yet another gloomy start in SF. Our first stop was Monteray Bay – we did 17-mile drive and then continued along Hwy 1. We wanted to stop at Pt. Lobos, but the parking lot was full, so we kept on driving. Eventually we broke out of the fog/mist and into sunshine. The cliffs along the coast were pretty, but nothing like the mountains we had just come from. We stopped and saw the elephant seals at Piedra Blancas –
and then toured Heart Castle (amazing – I’d stay there forever!). We had a quite bite at a yummy burger place and then drove inland to Kingsburg for our next of the National Parks.
