There are few words to describe what we saw on our private tour of the Alberta Oil Sands. The scope and scale of the operation is beyond even what I had imagined. Seeing the process in person gave me a fresh perspective on why tar sand mining exists, its environmental ramifications, corporate morality in the oil industry, and international oil politics.
